Contact Us

The Society was founded in 1938 to promote interest in Maritime History and it maintains a close link with the Merseyside Maritime Museum.

Many Members pursue research for themselves, the Society or the Merseyside Maritime Museum.

All Members receive the quarterly 'Bulletin' in which many articles and papers of significance by Members and others are published. Meetings are held monthly between September and May at the Athenaeum Club, 18 Church Alley, Liverpool L1 3DD at 12.00 for 12.30, when talks by Members or specialist speakers are given.

Members of the Society have access to the Archives and Library at the Merseyside Maritime Museum on Mondays.

Frequently we are asked for help in tracing ancestors with a maritime connection, you can click here and find out for yourself how to start.
